Selector Roots in Kingston
Born and raised in Vineyard Town, Kingston, Hotta Ball earned his stripes the real way—sound system first. With 20+ years as a veteran selector, he helped shape nights with respected sounds like Love Stone and Fire Links, reading the crowd and controlling the vibe track by track. That foundation built his signature: fearless song choices, clean transitions, and pure dancehall energy.

Recording Breakthrough & HIUM Records
In 2007 he stepped fully into recording, linking with Mr. Vegas on the collaboration “Hot Wuk,” putting his name in rotation beyond the dance. In 2010 he launched Hott It Up Movements (HIUM Records)—a home for his productions, releases, and the wider movement. From dubplates to finished masters, he stays hands-on: writing, selecting, producing, and guiding the sound.
